The effects of the Koranic stories on the psychological hardiness and Happiness in students
Abstract
This research was conducted with the aim of determining the effects of the Koranic stories on the psychological hardiness and Happiness in students. The population under study consisted of all students at Ghorveh Payame Noor University, who were studying in the academic year of 2015-2016. In this research, as many as 24 students were chosen via convenient random sampling as the research sample size. The statistical experimental sample consisted of 12 students who had attended spirituality sessions as volunteers and the control group was also comprised of 12 more students who did not take part in the sessions (this figure was also chosen from among the University via convenient sampling method). The research methodology was semi-experimental along with two experimental and control groups. The experimental group was placed under the impacts of the independent variable of the Koranic stories for 9 sessions, while the control group received no such intervention. In order to gather data, the psychological hardiness Questionnaire and Happiness Inventory were used. This experimental research was of a pretest and posttests with a control group. The findings obtained indicated that the average psychological hardiness and Happiness scores in the posttest of the experimental group were significantly higher than the average scores of the posttest in the control group. It is concluded that Koranic stories will increase psychological hardiness and Happiness in student.
